Ed Marks, Ice Cream Historian

Ed Marks has had the delicious and unusual opportunity of finding his calling, both business and pleasure, in the ice cream industry.

Ed's adventure in ice cream began after he earned a degree in Dairy Manufacturing at Colorado State University.

A pioneer in the field of ice cream retail, Ed began his career as a consultant-in-residence at the 1958 World's Fair in Brussels, where he was the first to introduce soft ice cream to Europe.

Founder of THE ICE SCREAMERS, a national memorabilia and antiques collector organization which focuses on the early days of ice cream and the ice cream parlor/soda fountain era, Ed was editor and publisher of their newsletter and the guiding hand behind their annual national convention. Still growing with almost 800 members, the ICE SCREAMERS have been featured on PBS in their program about ice cream in America.

A much sought after celebrity on America's favorite treat, he has written dozens of articles for various magazines, trade journals, collectors newsletters and industry publications. Ed's unique expertise often attracts the attention of the news media. He frequently has been the subject of several radio and television reports, including interviews with the New York Times, the New York Daily News, and ABC's "World News Now".
